I have been pretty obsessed with off the shoulder everything this summer so as soon as I saw this dress by Boom Shankar pop up in my instagram feed as in an ad I knew I had to get it. Somehow all my google search history came to bite me on the arse as the dress of my late night searching dreams was right there in my feed with a shopable link. Ahhh the times we live in hey? Anyway I do indeed love this dress and algorithms or whatever computer magic they used aren't all bad as I did find this dress with their help. Thank you computer magic!

Oh boy this is my newest and most favouritest jewellery EVER. Look at that Happy balloon bangle and unicorn balloon brooch from Kate Spade and don't tell me they don't bring a smile to your face. I lusted after them for about a month before I caved and bought them. They're just so bloody amazing I couldn't resist. The flower ring is another new addition and it's by Adelaide designer Naomi Murrell - and guys it is reversible! Who even knew that was possible? Multi-functional jewellery - I dig it!

Jumping In
Why hello there blog readers, so sorry to have neglected you for so long. I feel like I say that way too often recently, but in my nearly 10 years of blogging I don't think I have ever gone so long between posts. A lot has gone on in my life recently, a whole lotta changes. If you've been watching my snapchat (fashionhayley) or following my instagram then you'd know what Henry and I split up for good whilst I was in Tokyo. After 14 years together he broke up with my via facebook chat (!) but truthfully as horrible as that was to go through it was a long time coming and for the best. Also the way he did it made it a whole lot easier to move on from because honestly if someone can be that horrible to you after 14 years then are they really worth crying over? I don't want to waste any more of my life or energy on someone like that, and luckily 2016 has already shaped up to be an amazing year for me in terms of growth, my blog and work and also for friends and family and it's only mid Feb! I started the year with a bang at an incredible warehouse party in Fitzroy full of my friends and it's been a non stop party ever since. Single Hayley started dating and having fun. I found an amazing like-minded housemate to move in, I knew she was the right one as when we skype met she was wearing earrings I also own! I also have started an amazing job working for a top brand's online team and I absolutely love it. Seriously, just one month ago all these things seemed impossible, I thought I'd never find a job, would have to move to a sharehouse or maybe stay with family as I was left with no furniture when Henry moved out but somehow it has all come together so perfectly I have to pinch myself. My life is almost as perfect as this amazing Gorman jumpsuit I picked up at their recent sale. How freaking incredible is it? I basically died when I tried it on cos hello how perfectly does it fit me?

I was so obsessed with my soft pink Maude Studio bag I just had to get the bolder brighter hot pink too. This bag is just so perfect for my "throw everything in except the kitchen sink" lifestyle of carrying all the things all the time. It's like Mary Poppins carpet bag - it just fits everything in it with room to spare. The cute tassel was a gift from the lovely people at Frill and Frank and I absolutely adore it. The perfect little something to jazz up your bag.

Pink Picnic
Spring is finally here in Melbourne and Henry and I have been soaking up every single bit of sunshine that we can. After three years in always sunny Sydney this past winter in Melbourne has been a bit of a shock to our systems with the bone chilling cold arctic winds which are mostly unheard of in Syders. Taking Hachiko to our local park for a picnic is one of our favourite Sunday rituals that mostly stopped over winter mostly due to Hachi's fear of getting his feet wet (yes our dog is a bit of a princess and refuses to walk if the ground is wet). So this past Sunday when we saw how sunny it was we headed down to the beautiful Carlton Gardens for a cute little picnic. I love visiting Carlton Gardens so much as not only is it beautiful but it's also full of memories as I spent a lot of time in them growing up as I actually went to Carlton Gardens Primary School (well back then it had the less fancy name of Carlton Primary Rathdowne Street). I broke my arm riding my bike just behind where this photo was taken doing bike education with my class and my primary school would go on 'excursions' fishing for yabbies in the pond behind me (which seems really weird and crazy in hindsight - yabbies in a man made pond in a park in the city? I don't remember if we caught any to be honest). Feeding the possums at night and seeing drunk couples skinny dip in the fountain. So many fond memories in this place but what is really nice is making new ones with Henry and Hachiko.
My picnicking essentials. I've had this strawberry picnic mat from Japan for years, I actually bought it for my wedding. My pretty pink parasol is so old I have no idea where I got it but I'm guessing Ishka maybe? Or a $2 shop knowing me.

I am in LOVE with this ASOS Curve dress. It was sitting in my saved basket for ages as I was trying to work out if I should get the ASOS Mainline version or the Curve. I am glad I chose the Curve as even though it's a little big around the bust I prefer the smaller keyhole front as it means I can wear a bra without it possibly being on show and smaller cut out back as I get sunburnt so easily I try to minimise exposed areas - especially hard to reach areas for sunscreen. I mean I picnic with a parasol!

I love love love this new Carousel Lip Gloss in Candy Apple Glitter by Lime Crime that Makeupnet sent me. It's one of those rare products that looks exactly like the product image - shiny glittery apple red goodness - like you can actually see the glitter which surprised me, although I must say it can get a little messy when applying as it's rather gloopy but with some practice it looks amazing. Makeupnet are the distributors of Lime Crime cosmetics in Australia ans New Zealand and their webshop has all your Lime Crime favourites and latest releases with great shipping rates in Aus/NZ! They sent me lots of Lime Crime goodies, can't wait to share them all with you.

Rubi Shoes are really terrible quality, you'd think I would've learnt by now as nearly every pair I've ever bought I've had to return or exchange as they've broke. Well I wore these jelly sandals out for the first time and what a surprise they broke, luckily they did so outside the Rubi Shoes store so I could easily exchange them (sans receipt) but I don't hold much hope for these lasting much longer either. I should've got a pair of Juju or Jelly Beans instead for a little bit more. Oh well what do you expect for $14.95?

Subtle Nature

A few Hobartians expressed disappointment in my previous toned down in Tassie outfit, believing I toned it down for the people of Hobart. In actuality I toned it down (as much as possible from my limited Melbourne luggage) for the reason we were in Tasmania, meeting with Real Estate agents, lawyers etc for my mum's potential move to the Apple Isle. I didn't want to distract from the important happenings, it wasn't about me, it was about my mum. I also only had carry on luggage so most of my accessories were left on the main land. Sometimes less is more anyway, and with this look I feel that the look twice nature of it is more subversive and interesting anyway. Looking at it from afar the outfit is almost businessy, but on closer inspection the printed blouse is all kinds of bad ass with its money print awesomeness.

How beautiful is this beach, just 2 minutes walk from my mum's potential new house? I never knew Tasmania was so stunning!

Close up detail of the Joyrich shirt's money print. Joyrich is one of my favourite brands and I used to have to wait until I was in Tokyo to buy it as they don't have an online store. When I saw them pop up on ASOS I was overjoyed as now its so much easier to buy me some Joyrich awesomeness.

Such a beautiful part of the world.

Close up detail of the peplum on my City Chic dress. This dress fits like a glove on me, it is really flattering (for want of a better word) and I feel so confident in it.

MONA

As I've mentioned in my last few blog posts I've been in Melbourne helping my family with things for the past few weeks. Those things mainly were the fixing up and preparing for sale my deceased grandparents house, which needed a fair amount of work. Amongst this was an unexpected trip to Tasmania with my mum who has found her dream home on the Apple Isle. I'd never been to Tassie before but my mum has fallen in love with the scenery and lifestyle, and after a few hard years looking after her sick parents she really deserves this chance. As a landscape artist Tasmania is the perfect studio for my mum to work from and if it all goes through as planned the house she has found is in the most beautiful spot just an hours drive or so from Hobart. Of course being in Hobart I relished the chance to visit MONA, Hobart's new and now iconic Museum of Old and New Art.

As we were in Tasmania to meet with real estate agents and staying at old B&B's I tried to tone down my look a little, although looking at these photos I think I just ended up looking like a petulant teenager.

MONA is set in a stunning valley close to Hobart. I was surprised by just how much forest surrounds Hobart, Tasmania is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, if you can you really must go!

My mother obviously likes this angle on me.

As this was an unexpected trip to Tassie I hadn't packed walking boots so picked these black ones up at Kmart for $10 for the trip. They came in handy when we accidentally booked a forest lodge for our first nights accommodation (as you do). More photos from the trip to come.

The beautiful carved sandstone forms the backdrop to 'bit.fall' by Julius Popp, where water falls in the form of the most popular words in google news.

One of Jack and Dinos Chapman infamous hell sculptures. Not so shocking to someone whose high school had a classroom with a mural of hell, decapitated bloody heads and all. Mind you it wasn't a religious school at all, the mural was meant to represent what school felt like for most of us, hell (or at least that is what we assumed). My school even had a star wars mural, my school was weird guys...which may explain why I am the way I am?

Montsalvat

I'd never been to Montsalvat before, which to my mother was crazy as its one of her most favourite places. Montsalvat is Australia's oldest artist's colony built in 1935 by Justus Jörgensen and it really is a stunningly beautiful place. My mum is an artist, painting mostly landscapes, so she comes to Montsalvat often for inspiration and I can see why. It sure made a great background for these outfit photos, which were all taken by my artistic mother, you can see she has an eye just by the framing of these photos.

See how stunning Montsalvat is?

My neon rainbow bangle set were a gift from my sister's recent trip to India. My sister loved India, sure the extreme poverty shocked her but then so did the beauty and kindness of the people, her stories make me want to explore Asia beyond Japan.

NADIA FLORES EN EL CORAZON

The weather finally cooled down in Sydney after a few 35 degree + days, cool enough for me to wear my new favourite piece in my wardrobe, my vintage leather biker jacket I got whilst in Melbourne. I teamed it with my new purchase from Sportsgirl, a digital print dress that I actually tried on a few weeks ago when it only came in green and decided not to buy, well that was until it came out in the pink which of course I had to have. I'm still loving my red glitter Miu Miu's from Vision Direct, I never want to take them off. Don't forget to enter my competition with Vision Direct to win a pair of designer sunglasses for yourself, entries are open internationally and close on the 23rd of January. Good luck xoxo.

Win: A pair of Designer Sunglasses (Miu Miu, Prada & more!) thanks to Vision Direct

The other day I tweeted that I was planning a bit of an epic blog photo shoot and that hopefully I don't break my leg/neck/back during the shoot. Well these photos are the results of that shoot and the vintage roller skates were the epic and scary part! Guess what? I didn't break or dislocate anything, which if you knew me would shock you as I'm the girl who dislocates her knee getting dressed in the morning. I mean add wheels to that equation and surely something is bound to happen? Luckily nothing did happen but mind you I didn't do much (or any) skating. It was fun though so who knows, maybe I'll work up to it a bit and join a roller derby team?

My sister got me the Lime Crime Velveteen gloss in Suedeberry for Christmas and I've been wearing it non stop ever since.
