Green & Gold

 photo GemSkirt01_zps4cc60a76.jpg
I'm currently in Melbourne once again, its like my fourth time in as many months I think I've spent more time here than I have at home in Sydney. This trip I came down to help my family out with some things over the Australia Day long weekend, but the weekend wasn't all work and no play. I was able to stay at my sisters apartment on South Bank for Australia Day so I could go to House De Frost at The Toff, a weekly club kid drag show that my friends perform in. I decided to dress to theme in green and gold but there is no way in hell you would ever catch me with an Australian flag draped around my neck. Australia Day is essentially the celebration of genocide against Aboriginal Australians who prefer to call January 26th Invasion Day. Like I said on my instagram I am proud to be an Aussie but I'm not proud of our past. Australia Day also meant that the city was full of bogans who harassed me for being different/fat/shiny who knows really but I didn't have it half as bad as my friends who performed in the drag show. I haven't experienced that level of harassment in Melbourne before, I wish people could learn to be tolerant and to really celebrate what makes this country so amazing, namely our multicultural and diverse community. But oh well I think next year I might just stay in.

It has only been a little more than a week since I dyed my hair pink and unfortunately the colour is already nearly washed out. Back to the drawing board.

I picked up these flat jelly bean sandals when they came back in stock in my size. Yes I know they look just like my heeled version but these are more comfortable, especially when I'm doing a lot of walking and dancing.

My make up for House De Frost might also explain the harassment I received that night. Although I had pretty similar look on New Years Eve and only got positive remarks. Who knows!

Urban Glitter

 photo JoshGootEsque01_zpsf4ee9c7f.jpg
Welcome to my new pastel pink hair. I've had pastel pink hair on and off now since 2009 and also dabbled in the colour as a teen (well that and blue, purple, green and even canary yellow). I've never been 100% happy with the pastel pink results which is why its never been a long term look for me. I've tried most of the dyes and toners on the market but never Directions so after reading lots of positive reviews and twitter comments on the brand I decided to take the plunge and try them out and I'm so happy that I did. The colour is exactly what I was after, perfectly pastel pink and sufficiently Barbie like. To get the perfect colour I used Directions Carnation Pink and mixed it with conditioner until I had the pastel shade I wanted. The other fabulous thing is you don't need to use much of the dye so it will last a long time and save me money, yay!

I really wanted to share with you my new handmade kawaii decoden phone cover complete with deco cream, cupcake charms and glitter. My friend Carla from Messy Carla (who also took the outfit photos in this post) helped with piping the acrylic cream and I'm so happy with the results. No one makes cute phone covers for my LG Prada phone, the only downside to having an android phone I reckon.

I love the little details in the watch even the Lacoste logo and crocodile branding are cute.

NADIA FLORES EN EL CORAZON

Photobucket
The weather finally cooled down in Sydney after a few 35 degree + days, cool enough for me to wear my new favourite piece in my wardrobe, my vintage leather biker jacket I got whilst in Melbourne. I teamed it with my new purchase from Sportsgirl, a digital print dress that I actually tried on a few weeks ago when it only came in green and decided not to buy, well that was until it came out in the pink which of course I had to have. I'm still loving my red glitter Miu Miu's from Vision Direct, I never want to take them off. Don't forget to enter my competition with Vision Direct to win a pair of designer sunglasses for yourself, entries are open internationally and close on the 23rd of January. Good luck xoxo.

Win: A pair of Designer Sunglasses (Miu Miu, Prada & more!) thanks to Vision Direct

Photobucket
The other day I tweeted that I was planning a bit of an epic blog photo shoot and that hopefully I don't break my leg/neck/back during the shoot. Well these photos are the results of that shoot and the vintage roller skates were the epic and scary part! Guess what? I didn't break or dislocate anything, which if you knew me would shock you as I'm the girl who dislocates her knee getting dressed in the morning. I mean add wheels to that equation and surely something is bound to happen? Luckily nothing did happen but mind you I didn't do much (or any) skating. It was fun though so who knows, maybe I'll work up to it a bit and join a roller derby team?

Heart melting cute

Photobucket
Sorry about the short blogging break. I jetted off to Melbourne to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year staying at my sister's house who *shock horror* doesn't have the internet. Yes I could have used an internet dongle but I was having too much fun catching up with family and friends which I hope is what you all have been doing this holiday season, well that and shopping up a storm at the boxing day sales. I got this amazing vintage leather biker jacket on sale on at Vintage Sole on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy and practically lived in it all week thanks to Melbourne's mild nights. Sydney wont be cold enough for it till March I think. I have been looking for a vintage biker since I lost mine one drunken night in Melbourne, the trouble was it had to be cropped as that's the most flattering cut for my large hips but all, and I mean ALL, the bikers I found were too long. Then bam, walked into Vintage Sole and saw this beauty cropped biker hanging on display on the wall, ask Henry if he thinks it will fit, he says no as he just couldn't be bothered standing around while I tried it on, I go ahead and ask the staff to get it down anyway and holy heck it fits like a glove. The price was a little high for me at $155 on sale but with Christmas money in my purse and the desire of months and months of searching and finally finding what I'd been looking for at the forefront of my mind I ignored Henry's protestations over the cost (after telling him it was only $100 anyway) and bought this baby then and there. And boy did it feel good, #YOLO #noregrets and all that.
