I'm going through a bit of a pink phase at the moment and just found so many dreamy pink shoes at Westfield. They have a lot of womens shoes online, and lots of brands too, everything from Gorman to ShuBar. I think I'm going to have to buy the silver 'Marion' flats with the pink sole which are on sale for only $60, cos come on they just scream Fashion Hayley don't they? xoxo

Top of the shops

Topshop has always been one of my favourite places to shop when overseas, and I guess until the Sydney store opens it will be one of my favourite places to shop in Melbourne now too. Yes, if you've been living under a rock than you may not have heard that Topshop opened its doors in Melbourne last week and I was lucky enough to be invited to the exclusive launch. It did get me thinking though, will I like it as much now everyone will have access to the brand and what I buy won't be as unique here in Australia? Probably not, but that didn't stop me from buying some shoes I don't need whilst sipping Moët on opening night.


Australia's Next Top Model third season winner Alice Burdeu was on my flight down to Melbourne but I didn't get to talk to her till we were at the launch. My friend Emilia (in the white lace) was down from Sydney too, it was weird us three ex Melb now Syd gals all being back home for the launch.


It was nice to finally meet Brahman from Elgar & Lyle, he is actually wearing one of his necklace designs with a sheer blazer from Subfusco he first saw on my blog. Yes PR and Marketing peeps out there, people do buy things after they have seen them on my blog haha.


Johnny Le with Matcho from the third season of Project Runway Australia. Matcho is exactly the same as he was on tv, lovely and genuine but with that very Matcho fashion sense.

Christina formerly of the blog SRC783. Was nice to finally meet her and hear how well her sister, Lauren, who I met back when I did that Sportsgirl Super Stylist comp is going, which is incredibly well, working for ID mag over in the UK.

I spent most of my night in the shoes department, so many amazing styles including platform sneakers! Sadly the sneakers were sold out in my size but they did have some awesome mauve velvet creepers I couldn't say no to.


Ta-da! How awesome are they with my new lace frill socks from one of those Asian sock stands at a local shopping mall. The socks were only $5 which compared to the $14 of the American Apparel ones I've been buying is a huge saving. Yay for savings!!!

Talking about savings, check out this awesome Sample Sale on Smith Street in Melbourne from tomorrow for 3 days only. Sample pieces from TV, above, Estelle Deve, O.T.T by Lia . T and Young Hunting. Its gonna be amazing, I'm so there!

No heels no more

Due to my knee injury I'm not going to be able to wear heels for the foreseeable future, and maybe never again. My knee is at risk of dislocating again and again due to my ligaments being damaged on top of being hyper flexible, yes folks, my leg below the knee can move to the left and to the right as well as to the front and to the back. As I never ever want to go through the pain of dislocation again I'm doing everything I can to prevent it from happening, and this means putting a stop to wearing my favourite shoes. So now I'm searching for some interesting flats to make the transition to fashion purgatory that little bit less torturous.


01: Wittner Fabienne $139.95 A classic men's oxford style pointy flat, a style I turn to every winter. I like the twist with the patent toe, but I think I want a full patent pair which I am yet to find.
02: Denna & Ozzy Lucite Oxford $49.00 I love the see through element, it gives the shoe a fun and unique edge which should make up for them not being heels at a fashion event. I'm just not sure how comfortable the plastic will be.
03: Mollini Bolter $69.95 I planned on buying the wedge version of these shoes as I love the fabric, but seeing as I cant this flat pair could suffice. The embroided fabric reminds me of Christopher Kane's last collection, or Mary Katrantzou's recently shown AW 11-12 collection.
04: Wittner Zane $129.95 Seemingly super comfortable loafers in my fave patent leather. I just don't know if I'm a loafer type of girl.
05: Sportsgirl Audrey Loafer $69.95 Another pair of loafers, this time with the full grandma style fringing and toggles. Am I prepared to Nana up?
06: Beau Coups Flicker Tmoro Shimmer I love Beau Coups wedges, but alas can no longer walk in them if I were to buy a pair, so this is the next best thing. An awesome pair of silver shimmery boots which are sure to make a statement.

Sportsgirl Pitt Street mall Sneak Peek

Last night I was invited to a special sneak peek of the new Sportsgirl in Pitt Street mall here in Sydney. Yes I got to go behind the white barricade and into the freshly merchandised store to check out the fabulous details and share them with you.


The visual merchandising team collaborated with an artist on this installation which you see when you first enter the store. The geometric pattern is a theme that continues throughout the store and its VM.


Bloggers and media personalities were in attendance, all eagerly looking to spend the $40 voucher we got in our goodie bags.


The Sportsgirl buying team went on a special buying trip to Thailand and brought back an exclusive range of unique pieces that almost make that planned Bangkok getaway pointless...almost.


The beauty bar looks fabulous, as does the geometric installation behind the counter.


Cosmetics marketed towards bloggers?


The shoe area is an amazing metallic treasure trove. This was my favourite part of the store, but I am a bit of a shoe lover anyway.


Want these so bad.


I'm loving the cute gnome, astro turf and wild mushroom VM. Such a cute idea.


The styling suite, while smaller than the Melbourne flagship stores layout, is positioned perfectly at the front of the change room so there is no way you will miss this fab personalised service. I used to use the Melbourne one quite often (my friend was the stylist there).


Love the geometric wall.


I got to meet the head stylist at the new Sportsgirl Sydney. You can get a free one-on-one session with one of the stylists, just email the girls to book your appointment.

I bought this fab sheer blouse with lace cut out back detailing with my goodie bag voucher combined with Henry's. This is why I always try to bring him to events, double the freebies haha. I only just blogged my love of the ASOS sheer blouse, so to find this version so soon, which I think is even better because of the back detail, well I couldn't say no. Can't wait to show you my planned outfit with it.

I'm a big Sportsgirl lover, I think what they do in terms of their blog, collaborative projects with artists, designers and bloggers and of course the clothes themselves (and shoes!) is all phenomenal. Their flagship stores just cement their position in the Australian market place as a leader and innovator when it comes to retail. Its funny to note that I wrote about the Melbourne flagships opening right here on this blog back in 2008 and I wasn't too positive. My opinion then was that the store was messy and for some reason I preferred the Supre store across the road and its "nightclub theme" (which has recently closed down to make way for Zara it is rumoured). Over time the Sportsgirl store on Bourke Street became a personal favourite, with its ever changing innovative windows and eclectic layout which did in fact work. Sometimes the blogger isn't always right, although I do still hate the vintage section. I just wouldn't buy vintage from Sportsgirl, its a bit of a rip off. I did also live about 1 block from the store so that may explain my nearly daily sojourn down to the store to see what was new. Anyway now Sydney finally has a flagship to call its own and even though I am now 3 whole train stations away I think I can manage to get in to it weekly to see the ever changing displays and clothes.

Back to Front

In all my years as a fashion blogger I don't think I have ever blogged back and side shots of my outfits. That has meant when there are awesome details on the back of my looks you haven't been able to see them. Well I finally decided to be "brave" and share my least favourite angles with you, all in the name of showcasing fashion!


Traditional front on shot of my fabulous new dress from Gorman. I am a big Gorman lover, maybe even the biggest! It's definitely my favourite label to shop and style from and I think Lisa Gorman is an absolute gem in the Australian fashion industry with her passion for environmental design without creating hemp sacks. Her whimsical collections and lookbooks are eagerly devoured by me every season, and I always look forward to her runway shows. As soon as I saw this dress in store (and sitting on the sale rack no less) I knew I had to have it. I think I bought it for $230 (ummm I told Henry it was $70 shhhh) which is such a bargain for such a classic piece with a twist. Today I'm wearing it with:

Another normal front on shot. This time my 1st buy from the ASOS Curve collection. I'm obsessed with "mullet" dresses at the moment (short at the front long at the back) and had been stalking this dress online for ages till it went on sale. Its a little too big in the bust (newsflash: not all curvy girls are busty !) its also baggy in the waist as well so I need to wear a belt with it no matter what, but for $25 on sale plus postage you can't complain. I'm wearing it with:

A day in the life of the Westfield Insider: $200 shopping challenge

Have you ever dreamed of being on supermarket dash or maybe even one of those lucky kids on Agro's cartoon connection who got $500 and 10 minutes to spend in Toys R us? Only when you dream of it it isn't a supermarket or a toy store but fashion boutiques and shoe stores? Well that dream came true for me! I got invited to spend a day in the life of the Westfield Insider at Westfield Hurstville which involved a $200 style challenge to find an outfit (that is the whole outfit, shoes included) in one hour within budget and on theme with one of the key trends of the season that are featured in Westfield's in-store magazine Love Getting More. The trends I had to choose from were The Maxi, Nautical, Military, Nude & Pastels, The Blazer, The Romper, Coloured Denim or Digital Prints. What really stood out for me was Military, because ever since I styled my army inspired shoot for The Vine's Look of The Week I've been obsessed with the khaki and black combo. .

At exactly 10:30am I started the challenge, heading straight for all the shoe stores I could, and luckily for me most were in the same section of the centre. I stopped by Rubi Shoes and Betts but found the statement piece that would make my look in Wittner instead. For me shoes are the most important part of any outfit so I do often shop for shoes first, plus they are often the most expensive piece so in a challenge like this it was important to know what the damage would be. Of course I fell in love with some $149.95 khaki clogs with laces that are not only on trend for military but also clogs, the must have shoe right now. Luckily the store was having a sale so I got them for $134.99 leaving me with $65 to complete the outfit. Yep a whopping $65.

I wandered from shop to shop for a while, thinking I had made a mistake in picking up such expensive shoes. I tried on a few pieces here and there but most were no longer in my price range. Then suddenly I found lots of places with amazing sales on. I picked up a black a-line with draw strings skirt for $25 at Hipster which was having a 70% off sale, and a khaki t-shirt for $4 at Tightrope, yes that's right $4!!! Next stop was Ice who were having a sale, 2 for $12 on all accessories, so I picked up a studded belt and a necklace with silver rings. I spotted this hot black mesh t-shirt that was luckily on sale for only $13 which helped complete the look. This left me with $11 to try and maybe find a bag, which proved impossible with most starting at $14.95, so I decided to grab some khaki Cover Girl nail polish at Priceline for $6.95 and a much deserved drink in the food court, just in time for the challenge to end at 11:30.

So that was my day as the Westfield Insider, which is actually a real job that is being offered to one lucky savvy shopper.

The job description is as follows:

• Be paid 100k to shop as the Westfield Insider.


• 12 month contract at 100k.


• As the Westfield Insider you will Blog and Vlog the best finds from Westfield and respond to forums, threads, facebook and emails.


• Encouraging participation and expand Westfield's online community. You will need to be a good writer with good presentation skills.


• You HAVE to love shopping and trends, whether its food or fashion.Late 20's or early 30's and in the know with social media.
