CanTeen Style

Photobucket
Tomorrow, Friday 28th October, is National Bandanna Day, which raises much needed funds for CanTeen who support young people living with cancer. Most people have been affected by the terrible disease in some form, whether its a friend, relative or even yourself. I'm no exception, a close friend from primary school died from cancer at only thirteen years of age, a terrible loss especially as she was so young and full of life. CanTeen do really great work and every year I try to support them by buying a bandanna. This year I'm going one better and I will be at Martin Place in Sydney from 7am - 9am tomorrow morning helping to sell bandanna's and demonstrating the many ways that they can be styled in the special fashion booth. There will also be a red carpet photo shoot for people to get shots of themselves styled up in their favourite bandanna so please come along. Above you see me wearing the pink birds design as a turban, a cute chic way to style the bandanna.

Another idea, which is perfect for gents headed to the upcoming Melbourne Cup, is to fold the bandanna into a suit pocket square, and for this look I chose the checks design.

Another way to wear a CanTeen bandanna is to tie it onto your bag to add some colour and personalisation to it whilst also doing your bit for charity. For this look I used the Autumn Leaves design by bereaved offspring CanTeen member Natalie Jordan who was chosen as the winner of the 2011 Member Bandanna Design Competition and you can see why as its such a beautiful bandanna.

SOS Japan ebay auction

Photobucket

As you all know I lived in Tokyo for a year back in 2006/2007 and have loved Japan and its people ever since. The devastating earthquake and tsunami of March 11 has taken over 20,000 lives (including people missing and unaccounted for) and has left much of the North in ruins. People of Sendai, the survivors of this devastating natural disaster, are doing it tough in evacuation centres with little to no food and heating. The Red Cross is helping with the relief effort and is currently accepting donations. To help with the fundraising I am putting together an ebay auction for fashion designers, bloggers and stylists all to get involved and help the country which inspires us every day with its creative fashion. The Red Cross has approved my ebay auction, and it will go live on Monday 28th March.

To DONATE goods to the auction:

Please email me at hayley.h@onthestreetsofsydney.com with a photo or photos of your item, a description and the RRP if applicable. I will then confirm with you the details and send through your items url once the auction is live on Monday.

The deadline for donating goods is 10am Monday 28th March.

The idea is the donated goods are sent by you once the auction is over so as to save money on postage and also for the environment.

We want to raise as much money as possible for the people of Japan, so high quality goods and photos would be much appreciated.

If you have any questions please let me know.

PLEASE reblog/retweet/tumblr this information

Thanks,

Hayley xxx
