Fun Funeral Fashions

Notice the black tears?

I found this old fashion shoot I styled and shot back in high school for a year 11 media project. This was maybe 7 or 8 years ago, way before I ever owned a digital camera, so they were shot on a big old heavy SLR 35mm film camera. I wasn't a gothic teenager either by the way, the theme for the assignment was "death" (what a morbid teacher hey?) and we had to make a magazine spread, short movie or musical piece with that theme in mind. At the time one of the big trends for the season was "Victoriana", so I decided to do a fashion shoot using that style at the local cemetery (my high school was right next door to the cemetery, we used to hang out there at lunch time) I went to Savers to source the clothes, and I also made the lace floral broaches the models are wearing. I have no idea what happened to all the hats but aren't they amazing? (wtf happened to them? I'm really bummed now) One of the girls is wearing one of my mum's nighties, lol, but it really suited the theme. I titled the project "Fun Funeral Fashions" and got in trouble for calling Funeral's fun, but it was just meant to be tongue in cheek.
