A nightie as a dress?

I saw this nightie in an ad in the new Russh magazine and instantly fell in love with it, but not to sleep in but to wear as a dress. What do you guys think. Can you wear a Peter Alexander nightie as a dress? It's only $59 and I think it's totally worth it, I have actually got a PA nightie I wear as a dress already, but is this one too obvious?

  4. Do it! I can totally see this with leggings or some cute tights depending on the weight of material of the dress/nightie

  7. lol I've done the nightie as dress thing, I think you can totally do it, as long as it's not a super obvious nightie like with the satin and the lace trim at the top and everything.

  8. Hello, good to see a new post :)
Yes, this is definitely wearable as a dress!
If you hadn't written anything and just shown the picture with the header 'Good enough to wear out?' there would be no questions about its nightie-like qualities...
Actually, this dress reminds me heaps of the Shakuhachi range of tees.
    Definitely wear it out!!
    :)

  14. I'm in awe of your blog! I wish we had more fashionistas like yourself gracing in mags, it'll be unique and creative.

I've started a blog called 'Five Foot Nothing' and I'm trolling through the streets of Sydney finding clothes to suit petite girls. It's in its early days, but it can only improve.

  15. i would and have worn nighties as dresses! i had a brilliant plaid one from target which recently died... RIP nightydress :'( and fell in love with one from PORTMANS of all places the other day but couldn't bear to part with $50 for it.

  17. I think it depends on the material. A lot of nighties are made of that cling cling wobble fabric that leggings are made of and makes everyone look gross. But if it's not in that fabric, I'd buy it for SURE.
No one would know, and anyone who did know and saw you wearing it would only be jealous they didn't think of the idea first.
